Jim Bourque is the President of H. James Bourque & Associates in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

He has had a successful career in several different fields. He has worked professionally with the Boy Scouts of America, worked as an economist and economic developer for federal, state, and local government, skilled industrial stone developer as well as owner of several businesses related to both stone as well as the medical field.   • Finance Director for the Republican Party of Michigan (eliminated a major debt within a two-year period.)
  • Directed major fundraising events for three presidential candidates in Michigan as well as several other candidates for various offices.
  • Directed statewide fundraising for a variety of charitable causes and organizations over the years
  • Lake Superior State University Foundation-Chairman and member for the board for over 20 years. Double contributions and recognized with "Emeritus" status.

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

Jim Bourque started his career as a professional for Boy Scouts of America in Alpena, MI for 4 years. Following Alpena, he spent 3 years in Fort Wayne, IN. Following that promoted to Field Director in Milwaukee, WI. During his 10 years of service in the Boy Scouts of America, he was in the top 5-10% nationwide in achievement for membership, finances, and programs. He doubled membership during his tenure in both Alpena and Fort Wayne. He was recognized regionally for goal attainment each year.
Professional scouter recruiter for State of Wisconsin.  
He left for a five - year period to develop a Regional Planning and Development Commission in the State of Michigan for Governor Milliken.
Following his 5 years in Michigan, he accepted a BSA national staff position as Assistant National Director of Health and Safety, where he directed nationwide Aquatic Programs along with other health related programs. Highlight of his time on the national staff was developing and directing a pilot program at Philmont Scout Ranch called "Lifeline USA." The pilot included 50 scouts appointed by the Governors of each state. Along with selected leaders to lead the program, it also included the recruitment of one of top Army Ranger teams in the nation for this 22-day high adventure program. It was highly successful.
He left the national staff after a few years to accept the position as Director of Finance for the Michigan Republican Party.
